Terms
Terms of Use
These terms describe the conditions for using Sanctuary Reader, a static web application for opening, editing, reviewing and presenting Markdown documents in the browser.
Last updated: July 27, 2026
Acceptance
By using Sanctuary Reader you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, stop using the site.
Use of the service
Sanctuary Reader is offered for reading, editing, reviewing, studying and presenting Markdown documents. The service requires no account, subscription or installation for its main features.
You are responsible for the content you open, paste, edit, download or present using the application.
Documents and content
Local documents and pasted text are processed in the browser. Even so, avoid opening confidential content on shared devices or in environments you do not control, because the browser may keep local data, history, cache, or extensions installed by third parties.
We do not recommend opening confidential, sensitive or third-party documents on public, shared or untrusted computers.
When you load a public URL, you confirm that you are allowed to access that content. The availability, permissions, CORS configuration, speed and security of the remote origin are not controlled by Sanctuary Reader.
Limitations
We make reasonable efforts to keep Sanctuary Reader available, stable and secure, in line with applicable law and without prejudice to statutory consumer rights. Even so, this free service does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, the complete absence of errors, compatibility with every kind of Markdown, or permanent preservation of local drafts.
Before relying on any edit made in the browser, download or save a copy of the document to your own working environment.
Privacy
The product was designed to process local documents in the browser and to avoid unnecessary client-side tracking. The site uses Google Analytics 4 only after explicit consent through the cookie banner; without consent, the measurement script is not loaded.
Hosting and CDN providers may still generate technical access logs to deliver the site, protect the infrastructure and diagnose failures, as described in the Privacy Policy.
The details are set out in the Privacy Policy.
Prohibited use
You must not use Sanctuary Reader to:
- violate laws, copyright, privacy rights or the rights of third parties;
- attempt to exploit security flaws in the site or in remote origins;
- distribute malicious content or instructions meant to compromise systems;
- automate abusive traffic that harms the availability of the service.
Intellectual property
Sanctuary Reader, its interface, brand, texts and code belong to their respective holders. Using the application transfers no rights over the product, the brand, or the materials published on the site.
Documents you load remain your responsibility and that of their respective rights holders.
Changes
These terms may be updated as the product evolves. The version in force will be published on this page with the corresponding update date.
